Russian beef pie

I have never seen anything like the array of pies on display at Stolle. Baked to classic Russian recipes they are highly decorated. The dough is an enriched yeasted dough which includes a small amount of vodka. It is then laminated with layers of butter just like a Danish pastry. They sell fruit, fish, meat, cabbage, and vegetarian pies. Each pie has its own shape and distinctive elaborate decoration. The recipes are secret but I have created my own version for you to try.
