Cornish pasties

Designed so that the 18th century labourers of Cornwell could take their hearty meat and vegetable lunch with them to work in a clever edible parcel, Cornish Pasties now have protected status under the European Commission. Only those made in the Cornwell area - or made to a traditional recipe - can be known by this name.
